The cook in the house was off duty and he decided to fall ill the exact weekend my girlfriend was coming over. Among 4 guys in the house I was the only one who happened to know the way around a kitchen and since it was a Sunday I decided to prepare stew and rice and before she came I promised her no stress as it would be breakfast in bed, compulsory kitchen break for her because she had been under a lot of pressure from work for a couple of weeks now. I told her not to venture outside the room; I no If she comes out and see me in the kitchen struggling she would want to take over. I decided to make breakfast of Noodles and fried Egg for her.
I was using 4 burners one for stew, the other for rice and the other for noodles and the other one for Egg frying... I was supper busy in the kitchen that morning.
I dished out her food and took it to her I left to bring her water when she asked me to come and have a taste of what I prepared ... The noodles was too soft and the eggs oh! was partially burnt and salty; I felt so bad when she saw the look on my face she told me not to worry that she would still eat the food. That happened to be the first meal I was preparing for her. I told her I was coming and went ahead to the kitchen to make sure I concentrated on making the stew so I could compensate her for the breakfast. And my Sunday lunch did not disappoint as she could not believe I pulled it off perfectly.
